How to add a Fitbit device in the Fitbit App

This article will walk you through the step-by-step process of setting up a Fitbit device to the Fitbit app.

You can utilize both iOS and Android platforms to complete the setup process.

Step 1: Download and Install the Fitbit App

Before you can connect your Fitbit device, ensure that you have the Fitbit app installed on your mobile phone. You can download the app from the App Store for iOS devices or Google Play Store for Android devices.

Step 2: Sign in with Google / Fitbit

Process for Google Sign-in.

If you don't already have a Fitbit account, you'll need to create one to set up and sync your Fitbit device.

Upon launching the Fitbit app on IOS, it will prompt you to establish a Bluetooth connection. Therefore, it is essential to connect the app with Bluetooth accordingly. Click OK.

Let’s sign in with Google.

Click Continue.

Enter your correct password and then click Next.

Please Click Continue.

After successfully signing in to the Fitbit app, your account has been created and you will view the below page.

Step 3: Set up your Fitbit device

Tap on the top left Mobile/Watch Icon.

After tapping in, you will see the option to Add new devices.

Select your device from the device list.

For example, we are selecting Fitbit Sense. Please Click Set Up to continue.

After Clicking Set Up, for Android, you need to Allow Fitbit to enable Bluetooth for this particular process step. For iOS you have already established a Bluetooth connection.

Click I Agree to continue to the next process steps.

Then, click Next to continue.

Please enter the 4-digit pairing code displayed on your Fitbit device.

For Android, pair with your Fitbit device via Bluetooth.

Then, Click OK.

Click Next to continue with the WiFi setup.

Choose a WiFi network.

Click Next after connecting with WiFi.

Acknowledge Voice Privacy details by clicking “GOT IT”. You can enable Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. If you want to set it up later, you can Skip it. When New features are ready, Click Next.

Please note that the features of the Fitbit device will appear. Follow On-Screen Instructions. Click Next accordingly when needed. Then, you are all set. Click Done.

After you finish setting up, your Fitbit device will sync with the Fitbit app all by itself. It might take a little while. Once it's synced, you'll spot your device listed top left corner of the Fitbit app's main screen.
